Bio
Arriving at Fitzroy as a prolific country forward, Fred Beeson had turned heads by booting 68 goals for Benalla in the Ovens and Murray League during the 1923 season. He made an immediate impact in his VFL debut against Carlton in the opening round of 1924, slotting two goals before an injury prematurely ended his afternoon and effectively derailed his campaign at the top level. Beeson managed just one further senior game—the 1925 season opener against league newcomers Footscray—before transferring to the VFA, where he continued his playing days with Coburg and Northcote.
