Bio
Recruited from the Gippsland town of Neerim, Fred Dore arrived at the Junction Oval via a stint with VFA club Prahran. He broke into the senior side midway through the 1924 season, joining a St Kilda outfit that struggled for consistency throughout the year. Dore featured in eight matches and booted a solitary goal, primarily filling a role as a rotation player during the winter months. His career at the elite level was brief, lasting just the single season before he departed the VFL scene, a typical trajectory for many country footballers of the era who were trialled and moved on.
