Stats
Bio
A goal-kicking rover recruited from amateur side Beverley, Fred Edwards holds the rare distinction of representing two League clubs in a single season. He made his VFL debut for Essendon in Round 3 of 1913, booting a goal in a win over Richmond, but was omitted the following week and could not regain his place in the side. Seeking greater opportunity, Edwards crossed to Melbourne midway through the year, where he managed to break into the lineup for the final three rounds of the season. In a notable quirk, his brief top-level career was bookended by matches involving the same club; after debuting for Essendon in May, he played his final game against them at the MCG in August.
