Stats
Bio
Recruited from Mentone, Fred Harris arrived at the Lake Oval as a tall prospect for South Melbourne ahead of the 1957 season. Standing 188cm, he was capable of playing as a follower or in key defensive posts, making his debut in the opening round of 1957 against St Kilda. Despite his height and utility value, Harris struggled to command a permanent spot in the senior lineup, often finding himself on the fringe of selection during a mediocre era for the Bloods. He managed 19 senior appearances across three years without registering a goal, ultimately concluding his VFL career at the end of the 1959 season.
