Bio
Recruited from VFA club Northcote, Fred Moore arrived at Fitzroy as a mature-age prospect during the tumultuous years of the First World War. He made an immediate impact as a durable follower and ruckman, debuting midway through the 1916 season and holding his spot as the Maroons completed their historic feat of winning the premiership after finishing last on the ladder. Moore featured in both the 1916 flag triumph and the 1917 Grand Final loss to Collingwood, proving himself as a physical contested ball-winner who could drift forward to impact the scoreboard. He remained a regular fixture at Brunswick Street until 1919 before returning to the VFA to join Brunswick, where he enjoyed a distinguished second chapter to his career.
