Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Beverley Football Club, Fred Morgan was a diminutive wingman who made a consistent contribution to Richmond in the years leading up to the Great War. Standing at just 168cm, he relied on his pace and agility to evade opponents on the outside, missing only a handful of games between his debut in Round 1, 1913, and the end of the 1915 season. His promising VFL career was abruptly cut short by the call of duty, as he walked away from the game at age 23 to enlist for service in the First World War. Morgan survived the conflict but never returned to league football, remaining one of the many talented players of his era whose prime years were sacrificed for the war effort.
