Bio
Recruited from Murchison in the Kyabram District Football League, Fred Robinson was a solid defender who showed glimpses of quality during a brief three-season stint at North Melbourne. While he managed just 15 senior appearances at Arden Street, his 1961 campaign highlighted his capability, as he polled three Brownlow Medal votes despite playing only ten games that year. Unable to cement a permanent spot in the Kangaroos' backline, he transferred to VFA club Brunswick, where he developed into a standout full-back. Robinson thrived in the VFA, finishing third in the 1965 J.J. Liston Trophy and earning selection for the VFA representative team at the 1966 Hobart Carnival. His football legacy continued into the modern era through his grandson, West Coast Eagles premiership player Daniel Venables.
