Bio
Recruited from local club Essendon District, Fred Scott was a capable centre half-forward who featured regularly for the "Same Olds" at the turn of the 20th century. He established himself as a consistent goal-kicker for Essendon between 1899 and 1901, booting 25 goals in 33 games, but was unfortunate to miss selection in the club's 1901 premiership side. Seeking fresh opportunities, Scott crossed to Carlton in 1902, joining the Blues during a pivotal rebuilding phase under Jack Worrall. He served as a useful depth player at Princes Park for three seasons, adding another 17 games to his tally and providing a reliable avenue to goal when called upon, before retiring from VFL football at the end of 1904.
