Stats
Bio
Fred Ulbrick was a seasoned Tasmanian footballer who brought valuable experience to the club during its historic entry into the VFL. Originally a standout performer for Lefroy in the TFL and Launceston in the north of the Apple Isle, he was recruited as a mature-age talent for the Bulldogs' inaugural league season in 1925. A tough and battle-hardened competitor, Ulbrick's time at the top level was interrupted by a stint as captain of Dimboola in the Wimmera League, where he mentored young country players before returning to the Western Oval for a final campaign. Although his VFL career was brief and came in the twilight of his playing days, he remains a notable figure as one of the pioneer players who helped establish Footscray's footing in the elite competition.
