Family

Recruited from Geelong College, Garnet Lamb was a sturdy defender who sought to establish himself within a powerful Geelong list during the late 1920s. As the older brother of future premiership wingman Milton Lamb, he possessed a strong football pedigree but found senior opportunities scarce in a lineup teeming with talent. He played primarily as a back pocket, managing nine senior appearances across two seasons without troubling the scorers. While he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the ones, Lamb remained a valuable squad member and tasted success at the lower level, holding down a defensive post in the Cats' 1930 Reserves premiership victory. He eventually moved to country Victoria to pursue a management career with Coles, remembered at Kardinia Park as a reliable clubman who contributed to the depth of a golden era.
