Bio
Recruited from Maryborough Rovers in central Victoria, Garry Higgins was a mid-sized utility who showed significant early promise upon arriving at Princes Park. He made his senior debut in 1975 and impressed sufficiently to be named Carlton's Best First Year Player, marking him as a talent to watch for the future. Despite this initial accolade, he struggled to cement a permanent spot in the senior lineup, with his professional development admittedly hindered by his own impetuosity at the time. Higgins managed just seven senior games in the number 29 guernsey across two seasons before departing the VFL scene and returning to country football.
