Bio
Recruited from the Essendon District League, Garry Lowe was a local defender who progressed through the club's pathway alongside his twin brother, Peter. While he finished runner-up to his brother in the 1972 Under-19s Best and Fairest, it was Garry who eventually broke through for a senior debut in 1974. Standing 185cm, he featured in eight games for the Bombers that season, splitting his appearances between the starting backline and the reserve bench. Despite being unable to cement a permanent spot in the senior side, he remained a standout performer at the lower level, polling the most votes in the 1975 Gardiner Medal count for the reserves competition. Lowe eventually transferred to the VFA, where he won a Best and Fairest with Northcote in his first season before recurring leg injuries forced his premature retirement in 1977.
