Bio
Recruited from East Fremantle, Gary Dhurrkay entered the AFL as a member of the Fremantle Dockers' inaugural squad ahead of the 1995 season. A livewire small forward and wingman, he was renowned for his blistering speed and silky skills, capable of breaking lines and turning matches with moments of brilliance, though he often battled to maintain consistency at the top level. After being delisted by the Dockers following the 1998 season, he was thrown a lifeline by North Melbourne, where he enjoyed a resurgence under Denis Pagan and played a significant role during the club's 1999 premiership campaign, although he unfortunately missed selection for the Grand Final itself. Dhurrkay retired from the AFL at the end of 2000 and is remembered as a talented, exciting pioneer for Northern Territory football.
