Bio
Recruited from Morningside in Queensland with pick 21 in the 2006 National Draft, Gavin Urquhart arrived at North Melbourne as a talented rebounding defender known for his penetrating right boot. He showed significant promise early in his career, particularly during a breakout 2008 campaign where he earned a Rising Star nomination and looked set to become a fixture on the Kangaroos' half-back line. However, Urquhart's momentum was frequently stalled by injury setbacks and struggles to meet the fitness and defensive accountability standards demanded by the coaching staff. Unable to recapture his early form or secure a consistent place in the senior side under Brad Scott, he remained on the fringes of selection until being delisted at the end of the 2012 season.
