Bio
Recruited from Kilmore, Geoff Barber was a lightly built defender who worked his way onto the Essendon senior list after an apprenticeship in the reserves. He managed just five appearances across two seasons at Windy Hill, struggling to cement a regular spot in the Bombers' backline during the late 1950s. Following his departure from the VFL, Barber carved out a distinguished career in country football, serving as captain-coach for Yarragon in the West Gippsland Football League and later starring for Bamawm in the Echuca League, where he won a league Best and Fairest award in 1967.
