Bio
Recruited from Trafalgar in the Gippsland region, Geoff Davey was a wingman who joined South Melbourne during the mid-1960s. He made his senior debut in 1965 and showed immediate promise, holding his place in the side for the bulk of his first season at the Lakeside Oval. However, he struggled to replicate that consistency the following year, adding only a handful of games to his tally before leaving the VFL to return to country football. Tragically, Davey’s life was cut short in a car accident in June 1967 at the age of just 21, casting a sombre shadow over his brief career at the elite level.
