Bio
Recruited from Western Australia in the immediate aftermath of World War II, Geoff Driver was a lively forward who made a sharp, albeit brief, impact on the VFL. The younger brother of prominent WA sportsman Wal Driver, he arrived at the Junction Oval as a mature-age recruit and immediately found his feet, booting 22 goals and winning St Kilda’s Best First Year Player award in 1945. After two promising seasons with the Saints, he transferred to South Melbourne for the 1947 season—joining a club with a rich history of importing "Sandgropers"—but managed only two senior appearances in the red and white before his VFL career concluded.
