Bio
Recruited from East Brighton in the club's local zone, Geoff Fidler was a disciplined back pocket who played his football for St Kilda during a lean era in the early 1980s. A defensive specialist who focused entirely on containment rather than counter-attack, he was often tasked with locking down opposition rovers in a backline that was frequently under siege. Fidler was a reliable contributor who played 46 senior games without kicking a goal, a statistic that underlined his no-nonsense, safety-first approach to the game. He remained a steady presence at Moorabbin for five seasons, providing honest service to the Saints before finishing his VFL career in the mid-1980s.
