Bio
Recruited from the Xavier College football program, Geoff Greetham was a raw, key-position prospect who was handed a brief opportunity with St Kilda during their disastrous wooden spoon campaign of 1980. Standing 188cm but with a light teenage frame, he was blooded just weeks after his 18th birthday, debuting against Essendon at Waverley Park where he managed to find plenty of the ball. He held his place for three consecutive matches, showing some ability overhead, but his career was brutally capped by one of the most lopsided results in VFL history; his final appearance was the infamous match at the SCG where Richmond annihilated the Saints by 152 points. Greetham kicked his solitary career goal in that rout but did not feature again at senior level, departing as one of many young players tried and tested during a bleak era for the club.
