Bio
Recruited from local club St Mary's, Geoff Mahon was a robust ruckman and follower who played a distinct role in Geelong’s history across two separate stints. He established himself in the senior side during the late 1930s and was a member of the 1937 Premiership team, serving as the 19th man during the famous Grand Final victory over Collingwood. His tenure at Kardinia Park was interrupted in 1941 when he controversially crossed to VFA club Prahran without a clearance, followed by a hiatus during the Second World War. Mahon returned to Geelong for one final campaign in 1946, which proved to be his defining season; playing with imposing physical presence in the ruck, he capped off his career by winning the club's Best and Fairest award before retiring.
