Bio
Recruited from Mildura in the Sunraysia district, Geoff Martin was a lightly built but skilful wingman and half-forward who showed significant early promise at Punt Road. He made an immediate impact late in the 1981 season, winning Richmond’s Best First Year Player award after impressing with his smooth movement and ball-winning ability across five senior games. Despite this bright start, his VFL career was ultimately stifled by injuries and bad luck, restricting him to just one further senior appearance in 1983. Following his departure from the Tigers, Martin moved to South Australia and became a productive forward for Sturt in the SANFL before eventually returning to country football to coach and play for his home club.
