Bio
Hailing from Mittyack in the Victorian Mallee, Geoff Vanderfeen joined Footscray as a teenager in the late 1940s. He was the brother of Ron Vanderfeen, who would go on to play nearly 60 games for Fitzroy and Hawthorn, though Geoff's own VFL stint was more modest. Utilised primarily in defensive roles, he found it difficult to command a regular spot in the senior side, appearing sporadically over four seasons without registering a goal. His time at the Western Oval was ultimately defined by his status as a fringe player, and he departed the league following the 1951 season after just 13 senior appearances.
