Bio
Recruited from Caulfield Grammarians, Geoff Ward was a second-generation Saint, following in the footsteps of his father Eric who played a solitary game for the club in 1942. Standing at 185cm, Ward was a solidly built utility capable of playing in key positions or as a marking forward, booting 18 goals across his four seasons at Moorabbin. He broke into a strong St Kilda lineup during the Allan Jeans era, making regular appearances between 1968 and 1971 as the club remained a finals contender. Despite playing eight games in the 1971 season, he ultimately missed selection for the Grand Final side that narrowly lost to Hawthorn, concluding his VFL career that same year.
