Bio
Hailing from Leopold, George Anderson was a sturdy defender who split his VFL tenure between two distinct eras. He initially established himself at South Melbourne, where he played regular senior football as a backman for three seasons before stepping away from the league after 1908. Following a two-year hiatus, Anderson resurfaced with University in 1911, adding experience to the amateur side's backline and finally registering his first and only career goal during this second stint. His on-field journey concluded when the Students withdrew from the competition prior to the 1915 season, after which he embarked on a remarkable post-football life as a missionary in Korea.
