Stats
Bio
Recruited from Brunswick, George Bolt was a diminutive rover and forward who began his VFL career with Carlton in 1922. His tenure at Princes Park came to an abrupt and controversial end during the 1923 season when a post-match argument with teammate Jack Morrissey escalated into a fist fight, leading the committee to suspend him indefinitely. After spending a year in local football with Auburn and Railways following a blocked transfer to Richmond, Bolt was cleared to Hawthorn in mid-1925 to aid their inaugural VFL campaign. He played the final eight games of that historic season before crossing to North Melbourne, where he played out the final two years of his career as the club established itself in the league.
