Bio
Recruited from Marysville in country Victoria, George Brown was a mid-sized utility who played a handful of games for Footscray in the late 1970s. Standing 180cm, he made his debut in 1978 and showed glimpses of goal-kicking ability, managing four majors across seven senior appearances at the Western Oval. After his stint with the Bulldogs, Brown moved to Richmond, where he spent the 1981 and 1982 seasons pushing for selection during a successful era for the Tigers. However, faced with a star-studded senior side that reached the 1982 Grand Final, he was unable to break into the best 22, ultimately concluding his VFL career with his game tally confined to his time at Footscray.
