Bio
Recruited from Hobart via the Tassie Mariners, George Burbury joined Geelong with pick 40 in the 2011 Rookie Draft. A medium forward valued for his defensive pressure and aerobic capacity, he earned elevation to the senior list and made his debut in 2013. While he showed glimpses of potential as a high-effort connector inside 50, Burbury's momentum was derailed by persistent injuries, most notably a severe jaw fracture sustained in a 2014 pre-season collision. Unable to secure a regular spot in the Cats' lineup amid these setbacks, he was delisted at the conclusion of the 2014 season.
