Bio
George Chapman was a South Australian ruckman who found his way to St Kilda after moving to Melbourne for employment during the onset of the Great Depression. Originally hailing from Salisbury and recruited via Port Adelaide in the SANFL, he brought a robust 180cm frame to the Junction Oval, operating as a follower and supporting big man. Chapmanās career at St Kilda coincided with a difficult era for the club, and while he was rarely a week-to-week lock in the starting 18, he provided essential depth to the Saints' engine room across five seasons. He managed 32 senior appearances as a serviceable utility before concluding his VFL career at the end of 1935.
