Stats
Bio
Recruited from Oakleigh in the VFA, George Chapman was a diminutive rover and forward who had a brief but active VFL career during the early 1930s. Standing just 174cm and weighing 66kg, he relied on agility and sharp goal sense to compete against larger opponents. He made an immediate impact at Fitzroy in 1932, playing 13 games and booting nine goals in his debut season. Despite this promising start, he crossed to St Kilda the following year, where he managed a further four senior appearances. His time at the Saints was highlighted by a four-goal haul against Geelong, but he ultimately could not cement a long-term spot in the side and returned to Oakleigh to continue a successful career in the Association.
