Bio
Recruited from Sheffield in Tasmania, George Lucas crossed Bass Strait to join St Kilda ahead of the 1924 season. He established himself as a reliable defender during a particularly bleak era for the club, with the Saints claiming the wooden spoon in his debut year and struggling for wins throughout his tenure. A steady contributor who rarely troubled the scorers, Lucas played 48 games over five seasons at the Junction Oval, offering defensive stability in a side that was frequently under siege before finishing his VFL career at the end of 1928.
