Bio
George Perrett was a local recruit from Albert Park whose football journey was delayed by his service in the Australian Army during the Second World War. Making his VFL debut for South Melbourne in 1946 at the age of 23, he joined the club the season following their infamous "Bloodbath" Grand Final appearance. Perrett was a capable utility who could contribute on the scoreboard, managing four goals across his 13 senior appearances for the Swans. However, he struggled to cement a permanent place in the lineup over his two seasons at the Lake Oval. He eventually departed the VFL to continue his career in the VFA, enjoying a productive stint with Port Melbourne in 1949 where he averaged nearly a goal a game.
