Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Barwon Football Club, George Ricketts was a Geelong district product who earned his opportunity at VFL level during the 1910 season. Standing 179cm, he possessed the size to compete in key defensive or following roles and made his debut for the Pivotonians in the opening round of the year. His career at the top level was fleeting, restricted to just three senior appearances—including a mid-year fixture against Fitzroy at Corio Oval—without registering a goal. Ricketts could not command a permanent place in the side and left the League after his solitary season, standing as a classic example of a local talent who briefly stepped up to the big stage before returning to the district ranks.
