Teams

Recruited from Rutherglen in the Ovens and Murray league, George Robbins was a diminutive utility who embarked on a journeyman career across three VFL clubs during the 1920s. He initially struggled to command a regular senior spot at St Kilda, managing just seven appearances over four disjointed seasons before crossing to Carlton in 1925. His time at Princes Park proved similarly frustrating, as he spent several years on the periphery and only added four senior games to his tally. Robbins eventually found a lifeline via a mid-season clearance to Footscray in 1929, where he enjoyed the most consistent patch of his career and played out his final season the following year.
