Bio
A diminutive recruit from VFA powerhouse Port Melbourne, George Styles arrived at Princes Park in 1926 attempting to break into the Carlton rotation. Standing just 168cm, the small rover managed to crack the senior side for 11 games across two seasons but struggled to cement a permanent place in the Blues' starting lineup. Seeking greater opportunities, he crossed to North Melbourne for the 1928 season, joining a club that was still finding its footing after entering the league just three years prior. The move failed to yield the desired game time, however, as Styles managed only a solitary appearance for the Shinboners before his VFL career concluded.
