Bio
Recruited from North Albury in the Ovens & Murray Football League, Gerard Butts was a tall utility who originally spent three seasons on North Melbourne's list without breaking through for a senior debut. After leaving Arden Street, the 190cm ruck-forward was thrown a lifeline by Carlton, where he offered depth to the Blues' big man stocks during the late 1980s. He managed just three senior appearances across his time at Princes Park, primarily serving as a reserve ruckman capable of contesting high balls inside 50. Following his delisting from the Blues, Butts extended his football journey in Tasmania, becoming a key contributor for North Hobart in the TFL.
