Stats
Bio
Recruited from Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League, Gil Ebbott was the younger brother of former Saint and Geelong utility George Ebbott. Standing just 168cm and weighing a slight 58kg, the diminutive forward arrived at the Junction Oval late in the 1912 season to make a brief cameo in the senior side. He debuted against Essendon in Round 17 and showed an eye for the goals, booting two majors across his two career games before falling out of the side. Unable to secure a long-term spot in the lineup, he left the VFL to pursue opportunities in country football, notably serving as captain-coach for Koroit in the Western District where he led the team to a Grand Final appearance in 1914.
