Bio
Hailing from the mining town of Norseman in Western Australia, Glen Bow was recruited to the Pivot following a tip-off from a local police sergeant who spotted his talent in the Goldfields. He made an electric start to his VFL career, booting five goals on debut against South Melbourne in 1954 and establishing himself as a dangerous forward option. However, his time at the top level was cut short by the economic realities of semi-professional football. In 1957, Bow received a lucrative offer to captain-coach Quambatook in the Mallee; when he consulted Reg Hickey about the move, the legendary Geelong coach admitted the Cats couldn't match the money and advised him to take the deal. While his VFL tenure was brief, Bow returned to the region to become a colossal figure in local football, coaching St Mary's and East Geelong to premierships and serving as a long-term administrator.
