Stats
Bio
Recruited from Highett in the Federal League, Glen Brown was a talented swingman whose VFL career was severely hampered by persistent knee issues. He initially showed genuine promise as a potent forward in 1983, booting 22 goals in 11 games before suffering a major knee injury against Fitzroy. Returning under coach Tony Jewell in 1984, Brown was reinvented as a full-back—a tactical move designed to limit his lateral movement and protect his knee—where he managed 15 games before injury struck again. Ultimately restricted to just 31 senior appearances over five seasons at Moorabbin, he later proved his class in the VFA with Frankston, where he won a best and fairest and famously kicked 29 goals across a two-week span.
