Bio
Recruited from Keon Park, Glenn Gingell followed his older brother Bob to the Western Oval, establishing a strong family connection at Footscray during the 1970s. A rover with a natural eye for goal, he broke into the senior side in 1973 and provided a useful rotation option through the midfield and forward pocket. Despite showing promise and maintaining a respectable strike rate near goal, Gingell found it difficult to secure a permanent fixture in the starting eighteen over his four seasons at the top level. He finished his VFL career in 1976, remembered primarily as a serviceable depth player who contributed to the club's transition period before continuing his football journey in suburban leagues.
