Teams

Recruited from the Geelong Falcons with high expectations, Glenn Gorman was originally selected by the Sydney Swans with the fourth overall pick in the 1993 National Draft. The versatile 187cm utility was unable to break into the Swans' senior side and was delisted without a debut, but he was thrown a lifeline by North Melbourne in the 1995 Pre-season Draft. At Arden Street, Gorman found himself stuck behind a formidable senior list during the club's dominant era under Denis Pagan, forcing him to ply his trade in the seconds where he played in back-to-back reserves premierships in 1995 and 1996. He finally earned his senior debut in Round 13, 1996—remembered as the match where Wayne Carey booted 11 goals against Melbourne—but managed only one further appearance in the Kangaroos' premiership year before departing the AFL. Gorman later established a significant legacy in Canberra football, enjoying a long career as a player and coach with Ainslie and Tuggeranong.
