Bio
Recruited from local club St Damians, Glenn Sandford was a homegrown talent who progressed through Collingwood’s development pathways to win the Under-19s Best and Fairest in 1989. A strongly built ruckman capable of playing key defence, his opportunities at senior level were severely restricted by the presence of cult hero Damian Monkhorst, who held a lock on the number one ruck spot. Sandford managed just five games over two seasons, often filling in at centre half-back or as a backup follower, before being delisted at the end of 1994. He subsequently moved to South Australia where he forged a respectable state league career, playing over 90 games combined for North Adelaide and Norwood.
