Bio
Recruited from the amateur powerhouse Ormond, Glenn Swan was a towering 197cm ruck-forward who produced one of the more memorable short-lived careers in Melbourne's history. Standing significantly taller than most opponents of the era, he proved an immediate handful in the goal square, headlined by a dominant eight-goal haul against Geelong in only his fifth VFL appearance. Despite showing immense promise as a marking target who could pinch-hit in the ruck, Swan's time at the highest level was unexpectedly brief. He departed the club early in the 1974 season without playing another senior game, leaving a legacy as a potent but fleeting talent who vanished from the league almost as quickly as he arrived.
