Bio
Recruited from Oakleigh Districts after tasting premiership success at the local level, Gordon Peake arrived at Punt Road in 1957 as a strongly built utility. While he possessed the sturdy frame of a slaughterman—his off-field trade—Peake found opportunities scarce at VFL level, managing just six senior appearances across two seasons with the Tigers. He found his true footballing home after departing Richmond for the VFA, where he became a stalwart for Oakleigh. Peake played nearly 100 games for the Devils and featured prominently in their 1960 premiership side before finishing his career as a captain-coach in the suburban leagues.
