Bio
Recruited from North Ballarat in the country leagues, Gordon Polson was a mid-sized utility who arrived at the Western Oval in the late 1970s. Although capable of taking a strong overhead mark and playing above his height, he struggled to command a regular spot in the Bulldogs' senior lineup, managing just five games across three seasons while drifting between the reserves and the firsts. Unable to cement his place in the VFL, Polson sought a fresh start in 1982 and crossed the Nullarbor to join Subiaco in the WAFL. He found greater continuity in the West, notably featuring as a handy half-forward in the Lions' finals campaign under coach Dennis Cometti.
