Bio
Recruited from Lang Lang in the Gippsland region, Gordon Reid was a defensive-minded half-back who fought hard to break into a strong Geelong lineup during the late 1960s. He initially struggled to command a regular senior spot, making sporadic appearances between 1965 and 1967 before missing the entire 1968 season. Reid returned to the fold in 1969 and enjoyed his best continuity the following year, playing 21 games as a mainstay of the backline during the 1970 season. A disciplined defender who focused on nullifying his opponent rather than providing rebound, he remained a steady contributor until his final season in 1972, finishing his VFL career without a goal to his name.
