Bio
A standout defender from Croydon, Gordon Styles arrived at Punt Road with a decorated local record that included three best and fairest awards. He broke into the Richmond side in 1942, utilizing his solid frame to man the defensive posts, but his VFL career was severely disrupted by military service during the Second World War. Styles managed just 16 senior appearances over four seasons as he balanced football with his Army duties, eventually departing the Tigers to forge a significant post-war career in the VFA with Camberwell before becoming a premiership captain-coach for Kilsyth.
