Bio
Recruited from the small country town of Mitta Mitta, Gordon Yea was a goal-kicking rover who briefly featured for North Melbourne during the post-war years. After initially trying his luck with the Essendon reserves in 1947, he crossed to Arden Street the following season and finally broke into the senior lineup late in the year. He showed immediate aptitude around goal, booting a major in both of his VFL appearances, but found opportunities limited in a competitive squad that reached the Preliminary Final. Unable to cement a long-term spot on the list, Yea transferred to VFA club Brunswick in the middle of 1949 to continue his football journey.
