Bio
Recruited from local side Spotswood where he dominated the junior ranks, Graeme "Pud" Chalmers was a pacy wingman who wasted no time making his mark at the Western Oval. He debuted in 1962 with two goals in a victory that famously soured Bob Skilton’s 100th game milestone, quickly becoming a regular fixture in the Bulldogs' midfield due to his speed and skill. After representing Australia on the historic 1967 World Tour, Chalmers made the selfless decision to retire at just 23 years of age to pursue a military career. He holds the unique distinction of being the only VFL senior footballer to serve as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War, trading his guernsey for a flight suit and eventually rising to the rank of Wing Commander in the RAAF.
