Recruited from Fish Creek, Graeme "Mocha" Dunstan was a father-son selection whose short VFL career was distinguished by a baptism of fire in finals football. The son of former Magpie Maurie Dunstan, he was thrust into the spotlight for his debut in the 1972 Semi-Final against St Kilda, brought in to replace an injured Peter McKenna at full-forward. Standing 189cm, Dunstan was a capable marking target who booted 39 goals across three seasons at Victoria Park, often operating as a key forward or on a half-forward flank. Despite establishing himself as a regular goalkicker by 1974, he departed the VFL at just 22 years of age to join Norwood in the SANFL. The move proved immediately fruitful, as he played a key role in the Redlegs' 1975 premiership triumph and went on to play 129 games for the club, eventually reshaping his game as a defender before transitioning into a long career in football administration.
