Bio
Recruited from East Burwood, Graeme Jacobs enjoyed a dream start to his VFL career, playing as a centre half-forward in Melbourne's famous 1964 premiership side during his debut season. A mobile tall at 189cm who could also pinch-hit in the ruck, he was named the Demons' Best First Year Player and looked set for a long tenure under Norm Smith. However, persistent achilles and ankle injuries stalled his momentum over the following years, restricting him to sporadic appearances. His time at Melbourne ended controversially when he was dismissed for disciplinary reasons following the 1967 season, leading to a move to South Melbourne. Jacobs played out the remainder of his career at the Lake Oval as a steady contributor in the forward line before being delisted at the end of 1970.
